Active Youth in Local Community Life

It’s our first Project that serious – four countries, four languages (but if you wanted to count, there was at least 7 languages created for the project), twelve days, more than twenty different personalities and various expectations, and all these things in tiny villages Sielec and Kurozwęki, organized by even smaller Foundation of Youth Activation and Development. But it worked!

Coordinator: Barbara Karaś

The preparations lasted over six months, the fist visit of our foreign guests in February 2005 was an introduction for the summer project. The subsidy won in June 2005 from Youth Programme made it possible for us to organize four-side exchange in the winter. The products of the project are a poster wich promotes active attitude and "The Youth Manifesto".

Preparation visit 22.07-25.07.2005

On 22-25 of July 2005 took place a preparation visit according to the international youth exchange ‘Active youth in local community life’. We were happy to welcome the leaders of our partner organizations. The weekend turned up to be very busy and tiring; it took several hours to agree the details of the exchange, the rest of the time we spend of showing our new friends the attractive neighborhood of Sielec.

exchange/P1010254.JPGexchange/DSCF5906.JPGexchange/P1010261.JPG

During these several days we were working on youth manifesto, in which we wrote some points-demands referring to changes with are needed in our local governments to improve youth participation. As an extra we made a poster which promoted our project and and active attitude to reality. The manifesto is going to be pronted in four languages and given to local governments of Staszów, Pelhrimov, Cadca, Koper and Fulnek. The posters will be hung in our hometowns.

The project of the poster and a manifesto (not ideal tough):
